Board of Selectmen………………………Second Monday of each month, 6:00 PM
Board of Finance…………………………Second Monday of each month, 7:00 PM or immediately following the Board of Selectmen meeting.
Kellogg Board Education…………………………First Tuesday of each month, 5:00 PM. Held at Lee. H Kellogg School. (December, January and February are held virtually.)
Planning and Zoning Commission……….Fourth Thursday of each month, 7:00 PM. No August meeting unless necessary.
Recreation Commission…………………...Second Wednesday of each month, 7:00 PM.
Inland/Wetlands Conservation…………...Third Monday of each month, 7:00 PM.
Housatonic River Commission……………Second Tuesday of each month, 7:30 PM. Held at Cornwall Consolidated School.
Fire Commission…………………………..Second Wednesday of each month, 5:00 PM. Held at the Emergency Services Center, 188 Route 7 South, Falls Village.
Region One School District……………….First Monday of each month, 6:30 PM. HVRHS Library. July and August meetings are held only if necessary.
Zoom Access for Town of Canaan Public Meetings
Many of the Town of Canaan boards and commissions hold meetings in a hybrid format- allowing the public to participate either in person or remotely via Zoom. Hybrid and remote meetings are conducted in accordance with the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act.
Unless otherwise noted on the agenda, meetings are open to the public during the public portions of the meeting.

In Person:
Town of Canaan Town Hall (108 Main St.)
Remotely via Zoom:
Use the Zoom link and/or dial-in phone number provided on the meeting agenda.
- The public may attend in person or via Zoom, except for executive session portions, which are not public.
If a board does not use a recurring link, the Zoom information will be provided on that specific meeting agenda.
Special Meetings
For special meetings or meetings that use a different Zoom link than usual, the correct Zoom information will always be listed on the posted the meeting agenda. Special meetings may have different Zoom links — always check the posted agenda.

- If prompted, allow Zoom to open or join from your browser.
- Enter the Meeting ID and passcode from the agenda.
- Enter your name so the board or commission can identify you. Please note, you may be asked to identify yourself.
By phone (audio only):
- Call the dial-in number listed.
- Enter the Meeting ID when prompted and enter the passcode.
Public Participation & Etiquette
To help meetings run smoothly we ask that you please mute your microphone when you are not speaking.
Use the “Raise Hand” feature or follow the Chair’s instructions if you wish to speak. Public comment will be taken at the time and in the manner designated by the Chair (it can be found on the meeting agenda.)
Please note that disruptive behavior may result in removal from the Zoom meeting.
