FALLS VILLAGE – In 2023, the Falls Village Planning and Zoning Commission will be updating the
2013 Plan of Conservation. As part of this effort, the Commission has created an on-line survey
in order to give Falls Village residents, businesses, and property owners an opportunity to
provide input to the planning process. The survey can be accessed from the front page of the
Town website at www.canaanfallsvillage.org. The survey will be open through midnight on
Sunday January 29.
A Plan of Conservation and Development is an advisory document used by the Planning and
Zoning Commission and other Town agencies to:
Enhance the sustainability of the community
Protect the resources and assets important to residents
Guide growth and change in Falls Village
Identify facilities and services needed or wanted to support the community
Falls Village residents, businesses, and property owners are encouraged to participate in the
survey in order to help ensure that the Plan of Conservation and Development reflects
community goals. “This Plan is an important document which will be used to guide future
conservation and development activity over the next decade and beyond,” said Fred Laser,
Chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
For those interested, the 2013 Plan is available on the Town website.
The Commission intends to host a community forum in March 2023 to present the survey
results and collect additional input.
